Our staff includes specialists in
a number of areas of Orthopaedic Medicine. Our areas of expertise
include:
Foot & Ankle Surgery
Foot and Ankle Surgeons treat diseases, injuries, and other disorders of
the foot and ankle. Surgical procedures may be used to correct
conditions such as bunions, hammertoes, heel spurs, and soft-tissue
benign tumors, as well as problems concerning nerves and tendons.
Hand Surgery
Hand surgery deals with conditions and
problems that may take place in the hand or upper extremity (from the
tip of the hand to the shoulder). Conditions treated by a hand surgeon
include immediate care of an injury, treatment of old or chronic
injuries, arthritis, infection, growths and tumors. Hand surgeons may
also treat conditions related to nerves and tendons. Microsurgery may be
used for hand reconstruction, as well as reattachment of amputated parts
Joint Replacement
Joint
replacement is a surgical procedure to remove and replace an arthritic
or damaged joint with an artificial joint. The goal of joint
replacement is to ease pain and restore motion to joints damaged by
disease or injury. Joint replacement surgery is a reliable and routine
treatment for arthritis of the hip, knee and shoulder. Hip and knee
replacements are the most common joint replacement procedures. However,
joint replacement can be performed on other joints, including the ankle,
foot, shoulder, elbow and fingers.
.
Knee & Shoulder
Arthroscopy
Arthroscopy allows diagnosis and treatment
of knee and shoulder disorders by providing a clear view of the inside
of the joint, using an arthroscope inserted through small incisions. The
arthroscope transmits an image of your knee through a small camera to a
TV monitor, which allows the surgeon to examine the interior of your
knee and determine the source of the problem. During the procedure, the
surgeon can also remove or repair damaged tissues by inserting surgical
instruments through other small incisions.

Pain Management
Pain Management is the evaluation and
treatment of pain. Treatment can take a variety of different paths, such
as: stopping or changing the factors that cause pain, taking medication
by mouth or injection, physical therapy, or treating psychological
factors as well as physical factors.
Pediatric Orthopaedic
Surgery
Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery is a
sub-specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery that treats orthopaedic problems in
children and adolescents. Since a child's bones and muscles are still
growing and developing, they often have very different types of
orthopaedic problems than adults do. Pediatric Orthopaedic specialists
take care to repair conditions in a way that ensures continued healthy
growth.
Spine Surgery
Many patients with back
problems can be successfully treated using non-surgical methods, such as
physical therapy, medication and activity restrictions. However, some
conditions require spine surgery for complete correction. Types of
spinal surgery include stabilizing procedures, decompressive procedures,
exploratory procedures, and procedures related to spinal cord
stimulators.
Sports Medicine
Sports medicine is a broadly
used designation for treatment of injuries to individuals of all ages
and participation levels during athletic activities. Sports medicine
includes a number of professions that work closely with the athletically
active population. These professions include Orthopedic Surgeons,
Athletic Training, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy,
Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, and more.
Sports medicine is multi-disciplinary, and
Sports Medicine Specialists deal with the physiological, biomechanical,
psychological, and pathological effects of exercise and sports.
