Physical Therapy Staff
Our Physical
Therapy staff members bring many years of experience and training to
our center. They take advantage of opportunities
to continue their education and are also committed to providing
education to their patients. Each of our therapists has extensive
experience working with local professional sports organizations.
|
Maggi Cary, PT, NASM-PES
Maggi Cary received her
professional training at UCSF.
With over 20 years of
experience, her areas of
expertise include fitness,
weight training, martial arts
and equestrian hunter/jumper
training. She is certified by
the National Academy of Sports
Medicine as a Performance
Enhancement Specialist.
Maggi holds a Black Belt in
Tae Kwon Do and was a member of
the medical team for the US
Olympic Tae Kwon Do competition.
Her professional sports
affiliations include San
Francisco Demons (former XFL Pro
Football Team). She has been PT
Consultant to the Golden State
Warriors basketball team for
fifteen years.
Maggi’s interests include martial
arts, weight training, horseback
riding and canine field
obedience competition.

John Nisbet, PT
John Nisbet received his
professional training at UCSF
and has over 25 years of
experience in knee and shoulder
rehabilitation. John also has
an interest in adult fitness
including balance training.
John’s professional sports
affiliations include PT
Consultant for the Oakland
Strings professional tennis
team, the Oakland Stompers
professional soccer team, the
Oakland Athletics professional
baseball team and the Golden
State Warriors professional
basketball team.
John’s interests include
swimming, biking and running. He
has finished the Hawaii Ironman
Competition three times.

Julie
Choate, MPT
Julie
Choate received her Master of
Physical Therapy degree from the
University of Southern
California in 1994. Her primary
area of practice has been
orthopaedics and sports
medicine.
Julie was
an NCAA gymnast for four years,
and minored in Spanish. She has
had countless hours of
continuing education with an
emphasis on manual techniques,
including an extensive study of
the Maitland/Australian method.
Julie has devoted years of
practice in developing
post-operative rehabilitation of
cervical and lumbar surgical
patients. Her specialty areas
are the spine, foot and ankle,
knee and shoulder. She works
with past, present and future
professional athletes, including
but not limited to gymnastics,
soccer, baseball, basketball,
football, and golf, and also
enjoys working with recreational
athletes.
Julie
enjoys nature walks, books, art,
and wine tasting.

Debbie Anderson, OTR/L, CHT
Debbie Anderson
received her BS in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition from CSU
Hayward, and a Masters degree of Occupational Therapy from Merritt
College. She
is an Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist with 11 years
of experience in the Tri-Valley Area, and is an Ergonomic
Assessment Specialist.
Debbie
co-authored a chapter entitled, "Wellness of the Hands" in the AOTA Self
Study Guide, 1996. She is
fluent in Sign Language and Medical Spanish. Her
interests include outdoor activities, travel, cooking and entertaining.
