Vikram Talwar, M.D.

Spine Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery

The Webster Orthopaedic Medical Group is proud to have Dr. Vikram Talwar as part of our spine team. After graduating from Antioch High School, he attended UC Berkeley. Having completed medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in 1998, Dr. Talwar went on to internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery through the U.C. Davis and San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Programs, finishing in 2004. He then went on to complete a one year fellowship in Spine Surgery at UC Davis Medical Center, where he gained tremendous experience in all facets of complex spine surgery, including the treatment of traumatic injuries, complex infections, scoliosis, and degenerative conditions. He is now an integral part of our Webster Spine Institute, providing surgical and non-operative care to pediatric and adult patients with disorders of the spine.

Dr. Talwar’s dedication to medicine and his patients is demonstrated by his volunteer time with babies and children
at the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic, Temple University Department of Pediatric and Oakland Children’s Hospital. He has frequently been invited to speak as a guest lecturer in a variety of topics in Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery. He has
been involved in ground level research working to develop new techniques and implants currently available in the
treatment of complex spinal disorders.

Dr. Talwar relocated with his wife and twin daughters to the East Bay to open his practice in Orthopaedic and Spinal
Surgery in 2005, and has already proven himself to be a valuable asset to the community. We look forward to watching his career bloom in the coming years as he provides compassionate care to his patients.

Dr. Talwar’s interests include reconstructive pediatric and adult spinal surgery and microsurgery, and the development
of minimally invasive techniques in spinal surgery. Dr. Talwar is board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery and Spine
Surgery. We are pleased to announce that he is available to see patients in our Oakland, San Ramon, Livermore and Pleasanton offices.
