Joshua Richards, M.D.
Surgery and Microsurgery of
the Hand and Upper Extremity
Dr.
Richards obtained his
undergraduate degree in
Neurobiology at Cornell
University, his Masters of
Public Health at Columbia
University, and his Medical
Degree at New York Medical
College.
Dr. Richards completed his
Orthopaedic surgical training at
the San Francisco Orthopaedic
Residency Program, then returned
to Cornell University’s Hospital
for Special Surgery to complete
his fellowship training in
surgery of the hand and upper
extremity.
He specializes in the management
of musculoskeletal and
neurologic disorders of the
hand, elbow, and shoulder,
including the use of
microsurgery, joint
reconstruction, and arthroscopic
techniques.
Internationally, Dr. Richards
was a visiting fellow in Spain
and has a special interest in
providing training and care in
Botswana, Africa where he
performed research as an
undergraduate.
Dr. Richards is affiliated with
San Ramon Regional Medical
Center and Valley Care Medical
Center in Pleasanton and Valley
Memorial Hospital in Livermore
and Alta Bates Medical Center.
